Funeral Services for Yvonne Marie May, 83, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Cypress Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Eubanks and Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Yvonne was born on March 2, 1932 in Grayson, LA and passed away on January 14, 2016 at her home. She was a member of Cypress Baptist Church. Yvonne enjoyed the simple things in life; drinking her coffee with good company, watching her “Saints” play, sitting on her back porch watching her hummingbirds, getting her hair done at the beauty shop every Friday, going on daily rides with her husband on their golf cart, and listening to old gospel hymns. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could always walk through the front door and be greeted at her chair with a smile, tight hug and big kiss, and her favorite saying “Hello Shug.” She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Marie Whittington; sister, Louise Jarrell; brothers, Pete and Sonny Whittington; and grandson, Will May.Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Crafton May; children, Charles Lee May and wife Ginger, Karen Sue Evans and husband Randy, David May and wife Katie; grandchildren, Misty Fox and husband Ben, Scott Evans and wife Zola, Brandy Evans and fianc Chase Craig, Brad Evans, Matt May, Harrison and Teller May, and one granddaughter on the way, Sims May; great-grandchildren, Chandler Chism, Reese Evans, Alyssa Evans, Colton Chism, Cooper Mulhearn, and Sarah Kate Chism; sister, Mary Alice Hutchinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.Pallbearers will be Scott Evans, Brad Evans, Matt May, Harry Whittington, Jeff Brown and Randy May. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lenard Hutchinson, Chandler Chism, Patrick Barrett and Spencer Barrett. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, January 15, 2016 at Cypress Baptist Church, West Monroe.
