Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Lee Coleman Rainwater, of Amarillo, TX, formerly of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Bro. Jeff Luellen officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time, Friday at the mausoleum chapel.
Mrs. Rainwater passed from this life Monday, May 7, 2018, at the age of 84, due to Alzheimer’s.
Mrs. Rainwater was born July 31, 1933, in Eudora, AR, and moved to Monroe, LA, as a child. She joined Ouachita National Bank in 1972 as a teller and retired from Premier Bank (now Chase) in 1994 as Premier Partners Account Executive. During her career at the bank, she filled the following positions: Teller, Bookkeeper, Secretary to the Controller, Purchasing Officer, VP- Purchasing, Account Executive. She also served as a volunteer with the following organizations: Selman Field Historical Association, Senior Olympics, and National Arthritis Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Andrew Coleman and Thelma Turner Coleman; brothers, Tommy Ray Coleman, Robert Edward Coleman, James Arthur “Bud” Coleman and wife Audrey “Bib” Coleman; sons, Charles Stacy Rainwater, Byron Scott Rainwater; grandson, Steven Cody Rainwater.
She is survived by her remaining children, Sharon Hobbs and husband Guion of Amarillo, TX, Steve Rainwater and wife Kim of Silas, AL, Sara Ross and husband George of Monroe, LA, Sean Rainwater and wife Tammy of Rayville, LA; along with 15 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Retha Coleman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
