Funeral services for Wilma Elaine Duffey, 85, of Sterlington, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. John Mark Little officiating. Interment will follow at Duchesne Cemetery, Hebert, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Duffey passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center. She worked at Bond’s Bakery for many years before working at the book store at ULM. Mrs. Duffey was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Monroe, LA for 60 years. She has gone to be with her Lord and loving husband. Mrs. Duffey was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. When she wasn’t fishing or cooking, she was gardening and putting up preserves. She was famous for her banana pudding.
Survivors include her sons, Ronald Joseph Duffey and wife Sharon of Monroe, and Robby Lynn Duffey and wife Sybil of West Monroe; daughter, Paula Kay Wilson and husband Billy; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother, Wiley Kelly and wife JoAnn; sister, Johnnie Peters; uncle, Willie Duchesne; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Ritchie Kelly, Mike Garvin, Rick O’Neal, Nathan Kelly, Cliff Beck, and Mark Armstrong.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church.
