Funeral Services for Mr. Willie Eugene Sumrall, Sr., 82, of Monroe, LA will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2007 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, with Bro. Wesley Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe.
Mr. Sumrall was born on February 20, 1925 in Iowa Park, Texas and passed away on August 24, 2007 in West Monroe. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an active member of the DAV and the VFW and served as past state chaplain. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mae Alice Spell Sumrall; parents, Eugene and Pinkie Sumrall; brothers, Laverne Sumrall, and J.B. Sumrall.
Survivors include his sons, Willie Eugene Sumrall, Jr. and fiancée Johnnie, Kenneth W. Sumrall and wife Diane, John M. Sumrall and wife Linda; daughter, Sharon Sumrall Smith and husband Stephen; grandchildren, Timothy Sumrall, Melissa Lawson, Anthony Sumrall, Jason Bagwell, Kenneth Lawrence, Karleen LeMoine, Kimberly Smtih, Troy Smith, and Stacy Smith; nineteen great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Oliver Sumrall and wife Gail; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Sumrall, Anthony Sumrall, J.W. Sumrall, Joe Sumrall, Jason Bagwell, and Shane Osburne.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday, August 27, 2007 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
