Our Father called William Schmidt, 91, home on October 23, 2021 from his Rosemont Assisted Living residence in West Monroe, LA. Preceded by his parents William D. and Justine (nee Klipsch), wife Raquel and sister Adele.
He is survived by his sister Rose, daughters Renée and Nancy, sons Bill and Gregg. Grandchildren Katrina, Annette, Toni, Kristen, Kayla, Danny, Kelsey and Kristopher. Seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Nephew and niece Brad and Diane and their families.
He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1948.
In recent years He said he would greatly appreciate if Wendy's sold their Chili in a jar and McDonald's sold their Oatmeal w fruit at Wal-Mart. When he wasn't reading his bible or Tomorrow's World he was researching vitamins and supplements, watching Perry Mason and Raymond Burr movies, reading Humphrey Bogart's life story and learning the benefits of Pumpkin .
William's loving family in Ohio would tell you he was a caring man who put God and Jesus Christ first. He loved to make you chuckle telling funny stories and jokes. He would write comical phrases above pictures of his children reflecting possible thoughts in the mind of the subject by the look on their faces or a pose. A free spirit who moved across country after researching at the Library the weather conditions and economic data that best suited him from various cities in California to Ocala, Florida to Tucson and back. His need for optimal conditions led to settling in West Monroe, LA. about two years ago. A top priority was access to the Living Church Of God services.
