Mr. Lenard was born November 1, 1948, in Ruston, LA, and was the eldest of three siblings. At an early age he moved to Natchitoches, LA where he helped his family run their A&W restaurant and graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. He later moved to Monroe to live on the family farm and began his career with the Guide Corporation. After 31 years as a machinist he proudly retired and spent the remaining years at home with his devoted wife Jan and family. Having first met in 1986, Pete and Jan enjoyed 33 years of marriage and raised a beautiful family together. Pete was a great father and a loving husband. He epitomized hard work and devotion to family and instilled in them a strong sense of work ethic, morals, and pride in the Lenard name. He was a strong proponent of education and worked hard to ensure his children received the best education possible. Mr. Lenard had many hobbies and interests to include fishing, hunting, gardening and cooking. He learned to cook at a young age at the family restaurant and specialized in grilling, burgers, and gumbo. Pete was very athletic and excelled in baseball, basketball, golf and ping-pong. He loved watching his children play football, softball, and run track. Pete also loved the Andy Griffith show, Westerns, and playing Scrabble with family. After two years of battling illness, he passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, in the home that he built, surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Lenard was recently rebaptized and has now gone to be with the Lord. He will forever be loved and remembered by all those he meant so much to.
