Funeral services for Mr. William Prentice “Pete” Elliott, Jr., 83, of Monroe, will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, May 27, 2007, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Elliott passed away Friday, May 25, 2007, at St. Francis North Hospital. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of WWII and Korea retiring as Major. He was a deputy with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office where he served under Baily Grant and Laymon Godwin. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe, and Past Master of Western Star Lodge #24. Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, William Prentice Elliott, Sr., and Gladys Marie Kramer Elliott; daughter, Darlene Elliott; and sisters, Mildred E. Smith, and Grace E. Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Loyce Elliott of Monroe, LA; eight children, Bill Elliott and wife Debbie of West Monroe, LA, Steve Elliott of West Monroe, LA, Glen Elliott and wife Tamera of MS, Prentice Elliott, III of Monroe, LA, Denise Harrell and husband Pete of West Monroe, LA, Helen Margaret Thomas and husband Scott of Pigeon Forge, TN, Vallery Elliott of New Orleans, LA, and Dawn Keshner and husband Earl of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Clint and Kirby Price, Erin, Emily, and Ethan Thomas, Ellen Marie Elliott, and Collin Minckler; one great granddaughter, Dakota Price; and nephew, Dick Wright and wife Martha of Houston, TX.
Pallbearers will be members of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Department.Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Northeast Louisiana War Veteran’s Home.
