Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe with Marvin Wink officiating. William was born December 22, 1924 in Monroe, LA and passed away April 12, 2015 in Monroe, LA. William worked as a painting contractor. He served in World War II from 1942 -1945 with the 37th Infantry division in the Pacific Theater. His unit was in action at New Georgia, Bougainville, and the Phillipines. He received three Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star for his participation in the raid at Cabanatuan city, “The Great Raid”, which was the largest rescue of US POWs and the Bataan Death March. He was a member of the Baptist Faith, and active in the Hilltopper’s Round Dancing Club.Survivors include daughters, Frances Minnick and husband, Ron of Lake Charles, LA; Cathy Mulligan and husband, David of Sheridan, AR;brother, Kyle Letterman and wife, Sara of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Doug Feazel and wife, Valarie of Little Rock, AR; Shelly Feazel Wink and husband, Marvin of West Monroe, LA; Holly Mulligan Pollet and husband, Brandon of Orange, TX; Will Mulligan of Sheridan, AR. Eight great grandchildren, Lucas and Ian Feazel; Marly and Thomas Wink; Piper and Berkley Pollet; Natalie Wink Murillo and husband, Luis and Chaz Wink. Two great grandchildren, Cadance and Mason Wink.
