William Lawrence “Bill” Calhoun, Jr., 79, of Rayville, LA passed away on May 22, 2010. His death was due to a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a loving father and fair business man. He served his church, Rayville United Methodist church as music director for over 30 years, his community in many ways, and his country as a veteran, serving in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joann Shelton Calhoun. And is survived by his two children Larry and Cindy, his grandson Blake, nephew, Mike Mason and brother-in-law Wes Taylor.
Services will be 10 AM, Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Rayville United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Robert Black and Henry Cumpton officiating, with internment to follow in Rayville Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Blake Rebouche, Winton Rebouche, Bill Pippin, George Gladney, Jr. Billy Stodghill and Frank Cumpton.
