Klien was born on July 2, 1922 in Monroe to Mary Emma and Claude Crow. He died Feburary 15,2022 at the age of 99.
He graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1939. At age 17 he went to work for Fenner and Bean forerunner to Merrill Lynch. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in late 1941 then was called up for service in 1943. Klien went to Radio School and Gunner school then joined his B17 crew and flew to Italy. He ultimately completed 35 Sorties as radio-gunner on B17’s over Eastern Europe and Germany.
Returning home May 1945, he met and married his wife Virginia of 75 years. Klien returned to work at Merrill Lynch where he built a successful career as a stock broker. He retired in 1997 after 50 years but only because the computer age pushed its way into Merrill Lynch. It was time to retire!
Klien served on several boards. He served on the Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church, The Boy Scouts of America and YMCA where he played Volleyball for over 20 years then badminton for 5 years. Having a love of sports played on courts, he started playing tennis at age 49 when his youngest daughter began playing. He enjoyed doubles and mixed doubles with Virginia until his 96th birthday when he decided to hang up his racquet due to failing eyesight.
He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Virginia and survived by his three daughters: Karen (Phil), Brenda (Bob), and Vicki (James); eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Brent Boydston, Cory Copeland, and Cameron Rowan; friends Richard Bordelon, Dennis Baughman, and nephew Bud Crow. Honorary pallbearers are Gre Brennen, Ford Pipes, Dick Pipes, Bill Kelly, and Charles Wall.

Visitation will be Sunday at 1:00 at First Methodist Church in Monroe followed by services at 2:00 in the sanctuary. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to First Methodist Monroe 3900 Loop Rd. Monroe, or a charity of your choice.
