William Hickman Lockett

Funeral services for William Hickman Lockett, 88, of Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Loch Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Lockett died Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, retired as a Captain from the Monroe Police Department, and from Northeast Louisiana University as a security officer. William was a member of Loch Arbor Baptist Church in Swartz, LA. His hobbies include fishing, travel, and hunting.

Mr. Lockett was preceded in death by his parents, Alvan Jones Lockett and Charlotte Mae Corbin Lockett; and his sister, Charlotte Jones Cox.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Mary Louise Gilley Lockett; five children, William H. Lockett, Jr. and wife Debbie of Austin, TX, Nancy McHugh of Candler, FL, Charlotte Wilhite and husband John of Monroe, LA, Mitzi Lockett of Monroe, LA; and stepson, Winfred Wade Crenshaw, Jr. of West Monroe, LA. Mr. Lockett also leaves six grandchildren, John Lockett, William Logan Lockett, Angelyn Bernard, Amy Pennyworth, Amie Annan, and Kristen Caswell; and twelve great grandchildren, Jake and Lauren Lockett, Elise Talley, Lillian Bernard, Jacob Hibbard, Kessie, Mahree, Shaylee, and Kelden Annan, Linsey Caswell, Vaden Nearhood, and William Crenshaw.

Pallbearers will be John Wilhite, Brooks Dawkins, Winfred Wade Crenshaw, Jr., Paul Bernard, Don Corbin, Mark Corbin, Edwin Davis, and William H. Lockett, Jr.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at Loch Arbor Baptist Church.
