Funeral services for William H. Soister, 96, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Curtis Coleman Campbell officiating. Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Soister passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011, after a lengthy illness. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Soister was employed at Sears as a floor covering manager and was a leather artist by trade.
Mr. Soister was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Helen Campbell Soister.
Survivors include his son, Mark Stanley Soister and wife Terry of Monroe; daughter, Donna Virginia Soister Hudson and husband David, of Eros; granddaughters, Ashley Soister Grove and husband Brett of Dallas, GA, Amy Nicole Soister of Monroe, and Hillary Hudson Williams and husband Benjamin of Eros; great grandchildren, Pearson Reed Grove of Dallas, GA, and Kennedy and Dylan Williams of Eros, LA.
Pallbearers will be William Oxley, Paul Oxley, Doug Upshaw, Phillip Campbell, Ernie Nolan, L. D. Smith, Benji Williams, and Jamie Allison.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
