Funeral services for William Earl Washington, 76, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 19, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery, Richland Parish, LA.
Mr. Washington was born January 27, 1941 and passed away January 16, 2018. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army, in Germany, for 3 years. He worked for Scott Truck and Tractor, and Cooper Freight Line. William was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and in his free time, he loved to fish and farm.
Mr. Washington was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Washington; sister, Bobbie Jean Washington; granddaughter, Amber Nicole Washington; and great granddaughter, Adelyn Love Leggett.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Margaret O. Washington; 4 children, William Richard Washington and wife Tammy, Michael Wayne Washington and wife Cathy, Robert Earl Washington, and Jenny Leona Washington and husband Jason Eldridge; 8 grandchildren, Brock Washington, Ciara Aguilar, Kristin Howell, Kayla Leggett, Tasha Robertson, Casey Franklin, Kodee Washington, Kile Washington; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, David Washington and Carl Washington; 2 sisters, Betty Pearson and Shirley Turner; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Godina, Kodee Washington, Kile Washington, Bobby John Godina, Casey Franklin, and Carlos Aguilar. Honorary pallbearers will be Brock Washington, Cheyenne Cantu, Nick Godina, Bo Bass, Mark Doyle, and Joe Cantu.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to LA Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Rev. Ricky Baker, Natalie Ward, Sabrina Cole and April Tharpe.
