A funeral service for Wava Jenkins Frazer, 95, will be held at Grace Episcopal Church on Monday December 4, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. with Father Don Smith officiating and Father Gregg Riley assisting. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
The visitation will precede the service at 12 Noon in Kilbourne Hall at the church.
Mrs. Frazer was born September 20, 1928, in Little Rock, AR, lived in McGehee, AR for her school age years, then moved to Monroe after high school. She attended Northeast Louisiana Junior College and L.S.U. where she joined Chi Omega Sorority. Ms. Frazer was active in many civic organizations including the Junior League and the Monroe Garden Club. She and her husband, Harry were particularly devoted to Grace Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years, served on the Altar Guild, and the Daughters of the King, among other church ministries. Ms. Frazer loved her lord, her family, and her many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry G. Frazer, Jr.; her daughter, Jennifer Frazer Doles; her parents, Nezzie “Doll” Rial Jenkins and William McKinley Jenkins; and her parents-in-law, Elstner Hanna Frazer and Harry G. Frazer, Sr.
Mrs. Frazer is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Frazer Niswanger and son-in-law, Joe of Marion and Monroe, LA, grandsons, Frazer Breckenridge and wife, Dianne of Athens, GA, and Douglas Breckenridge of Kingman, AZ and great grandson, Dublin Frazer Breckenridge; brother, William “Bud” Jenkins and wife, Bobbie Jo and her sister-in-law, Elstner “Sister” Frazer Simmons, and husband Dr. Heber S. Simmons, Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Frazer felt especially fortunate to be a step-grandparent to Jodee Niswanger Bruyninckx and husband, Dr. Kyle B. Bruyninckx, Fritz Niswanger and wife, Sarah, and Rudy Niswanger and wife, Patricia along with their children.
A special thank you to Dr. Kyle Bruyninckx and the Bruyninckx Medical Clinic, the Elara Hospice team, the St. Joseph Assisted Living Staff, and Ida Manning for their loving support of Ms. Frazer during her final years.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Niswanger, Fritz Niswanger, Dr. Kyle Bruyninckz, Mike Husted, James Fox, Ross Thompson, and Bert Durrett.
Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe, LA or your favorite charity.
