Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Wanda Wilder Jackson Plouet, 77, of Calhoun, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Calhoun, LA, with Dr. Steve Horn and Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Interment will follow in New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
The family will receive friends from Noon until service time at the church.
Mrs. Plouet went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 17, 2021, at her home in Calhoun, LA.
Wanda Faye Wilder was born May 5, 1943. She was the daughter of Loice and Ella (Harper) Wilder. She married her first husband, G. Pat Jackson, III on March 9, 1962 and was a pastor’s wife in Clarence, Florien, Newellton and Sulphur, LA. They were married for 29 years until his death. She is currently married to Edwin Plouet, her spouse of 19 years.
Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Calhoun, LA. She served the Lord in various ways in multiple churches and received a degree in religious education in 1984. She retired from the Louisiana Baptist Convention. She was an ordained Children’s Minister, serving First Baptist Church in Lafayette and First Baptist Church in Calhoun, where she enjoyed teaching these children and loving these families.
Wanda is preceded in death by her first husband, Pat Jackson; her parents, Loice and Ella (Harper) Wilder; sister, Eleanor Cameron Skov; brother, Thomas Wilder; and grandson, Bryant Fandal.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin “Red” Plouet; her daughters, Debi and (Miche’) Fandal, and Amy and (Rivers) Sevario; grandchildren, Joe and (Megan) Fandal, Angil Manasco and Colyn Sevario; great grandchildren, Skylar Fandal, Grayson Fandal and Finley Sage Fandal; sisters, Dorothy Heacock, and Beth Wilder; brother-in-law, Peter Skov and many friends. All who called her Wanda Faye, Aunt Wanda, or Granny.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Herrington, Ron Huey, Mike Cameron, Tommy Perkins, and Tommy Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Cameron, Ken Reynolds and David Anderson.
Memorials may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or to your local church’s Children’s Ministry.
The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses and all of the health care workers that took such wonderful care of Mrs. Wanda the last few years.
