Wanda Sue Wells Roberts

June 6, 1943 — January 11, 2022

Wanda Sue Wells Roberts was born June 6, 1943, the youngest of four children to the parents
of EJ & Celia Wells of Simpson, Louisiana and was raised in Simpson through high school. She
passed away in her home in West Monroe, Louisiana on January 11, 2022. In 1961, after high
school graduation, Sue attended both LSUA and Northwestern University in Natchitoches.
Before retirement, she spent the majority of her 40-year career as a Full Charge Bookkeeper in
various industries while also serving as a Weight Watchers Counselor to many in Northeast
Louisiana for over 20 years.
Sue was an avid reader and enjoyed watching old movies, TV comedies and spending time with
her family. She was an excellent cook and baker and hosted many holiday meals at her home.
Sue has been described as a thoughtful, kind, and compassionate lady. Friends and family
remember her as an upbeat, encouraging person.
She was a very active person in the church, both at Refuge in the Park Baptist Church and
Calvary Baptist. After a trying time following a long recovery from a heart surgery in 2015, Sue
vowed to never “waste another moment” and she did not. Her life was an example of never
giving up and remaining focused on the things that truly mattered, her devotion to her family
and husband, Harry, and her relationship to God through Jesus Christ. Sue’s faith grew stronger
every day and she indeed finished well.
She is preceded in death by her parents, EJ and Celia Wells; her brother LeRoy Wells and his
wife, Jean; her sister, Bonnie Calhoun and her husband, Jerry.
Survivors include Sue’s husband, Harry Roberts, their son, Todd Roberts, his wife, Laura,
grandsons, Mitchell, and Blake; their daughter, Melinda Brown, her husband, David; Sue’s
brother, Charles Wells, his wife Ruth and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mulhearn’s Funeral Home in West Monroe, Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time, followed by a graveside service, weather permitting, at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens also in West Monroe. Dr.

Calhoun and James Auttonberry. Todd Roberts will service as an honorary Pallbearer. Alanna
