Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Wallace Joseph Durel Olinde, Sr., 86, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2018, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Mark Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
Mr. Olinde was born on July 27, 1932 and passed away on December 10, 2018. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana Institute (ULL) majoring in Geological Engineering and later graduated in the 2nd graduating class of the School of Pharmacy at Northeast Louisiana College (ULM). He was a member of the Phi Delta Chi Fraternity (1960), where he was a charter member. In 1962, Mr. Olinde acquired Monroe Lovers Lane Pharmacy on South Grand Street in Monroe, LA. He operated the pharmacy until his retirement in 1995. In retirement he became an active member of the Twin City Senior Bass Club.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Dell LeBlanc Olinde; his children, Wallace J. Olinde, Jr. and his wife Michele Olinde, Mary Olinde McClung and her husband Daniel McClung, Sr., Larry T. Olinde, Roger B. Olinde and wife Kim Olinde, Kurt D. Olinde, Sr. and wife Melanie Olinde, and Dianna Olinde Rasmussen;
his grandchildren, Lindsay Olinde, Wallace J. Olinde, III, Michael Olinde, Kristin McClung Otting and her husband Rob Otting, Daniel McClung, Jr. and his wife Sally McClung, Derek Stone and his wife Rachel Stone, Sydney Stone, Grace Olinde, Blaise Olinde, Ashlie Olinde, and Kurt Olinde, Jr.; great-grandchildren Olivia Stone and Elliot Otting; and his sister, Gladys Jewell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger B. Olinde, Sr., and Laura Olinde; his sister, Laura Olinde Berthier; his brother, Roger B. Olinde, Jr.; and his sister, Sylvia Olinde Wiegan.
Pallbearers will be Wallace J. Olinde III, Michael Olinde, Daniel McClung, Jr., Derek Stone, Blaise Olinde, and Kurt Olinde, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Twin City Senior Bass Club.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
