Wallace Dewey Graves

Graveside Service for Mr. Wallace Dewey Graves, 85, of Sterlington, LA, will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, LA with Travis Arrant officiating. 

Mr. Graves was born April 1, 1939 and passed away on May 4, 2024, surrounded by family. He retired from IMC/Koch Nitrogen Company after 27 years. Mr. Graves was a member of Naff Avenue Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

He is preceded in death by his parents, O.D. Graves and Evelyn Peek Graves; grandson, Matthew Metheny; great-grandson, Peyton Metheny; and sister, Mary Mashaw.

Survivors include his wife of 64.99 years, Joy Mardis Graves; two daughters, Lynee’ Graves Metheny and husband, Kim, Jerelyn Graves Smith and husband, Ritchie; three grandsons, Heath Smith and wife, Amber, Josh Metheny and wife, Amy, Dylan Smith and wife, Danielle; six great-grandchildren, Eli, Bryan, Micah, Finley, Brylee, and Macy Grace; sister, Sue Saunders; adopted daughter, Tao “Maria” Boyle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. 

Pallbearers will be Heath Smith, Josh Metheny, Dylan Smith, Gary Guice, Kim Metheny, and Don Turner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Maxwell, Richard Reynolds, and Eli Smith. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
