Virginia "Gayle" Peters

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia “Gayle” Peters, 71, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Peters was born October 2, 1952, in Midland, TX, and passed away March 2, 2024, in Monroe, LA. She worked for Monroe City School District and Sallie Humble Elementary. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and North Monroe Baptist Church.

Gayle was a schoolteacher that loved kids. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved everyone whole heartedly and never judged anyone. She loved painting, arts and crafts, music and her whole family, and her cat, Apache. Gayle was a big believer in the Lord.

Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Lillian Peters Avery; father-in-law, Cecil Ardis Peters; father, Joseph Harmon, mother, Betty Meshell; brothers, Donnie Harmon and Billy Harmon; brothers-in-law, Rob Russell, Bill Becton, and Tommy Peters; and sister-in-law, Sandi Russell.

Survivors include her husband, Ken Peters; son, Todd Peters (Jerri); daughter, Mandy Peters (Anita); sister, Pat Harmon Villareal (Junior); brother, Tommy Harmon (Cathy); sister, Kathy Kemp (Scott); sister, Bogie Harmon Wilson (Steve); granddaughter, Kaylin Blackburn (Jacob); grandson, Lukas Peters; sister-in-law, Carole Becton; sister-in-law, Sherri Traylor; sister-in-law, Debbie Wills (Don); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and one great grandchild on the way.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation - Breast Cancer Society.
