Virginia Jones Stroud

Memorial Services for Mrs. Virginia Jones Stroud, 85 of West Monroe, LA will be held at 4pm Sunday October 15th in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Stroud was born May 5, 1932 in Monroe, LA, and passed away in West Monroe, LA. on October 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” P. Stroud, Sr. her parents Lester and Hazel Jones, sister Millicent Jones and brother William Eugene Jones.
Survivors include her children Becky Blacksher and husband Dan of Ringgold, LA. , Ricky Stroud of Greenwood,Ms., Marcey Stroud of Canton , OH., Thomas P. Stroud , Jr. and wife Jodi of Sarasota, Fl. Five grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Interment will be at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida at a later date.
Mrs., Stroud was a long time employee of the Ouachita Parish School Board where she was employed as a school bus driver. She retired after 25 years of service and was always proud that even with her small frame she could handle the school bus and its passengers.
In retirement, Mrs. Stroud volunteered her time at the Sarasota Military Academy and the Sarasota County Sheriffs Office in Sarasota, Florida. She was a volunteer at Glenwood Hospital and the Glenwood Medical Mall.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until service time on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
