Graveside services for Mrs. Virginia Durham Galigher, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held 10:00AM Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Oakwood Cemetery, 2216 Broadway Street, Mt. Vernon, IL. Visitation will be held 10:00AM until 11:00AM Saturday, March 07, 2020, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.
She was born Virginia Rose Osborne on June 17, 1932, in Shreveport, LA, to Mr. Orlando and Mrs. Margaret Osborne, and passed away Wednesday, March 04, 2020, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. She graduated Fair Park High School class of 1950. She was married to Gerald (Jerry) Durham until his death in 1993. After moving to Monroe, LA in 1971, they owned Virginia Durham Court reporting for thirty years and The Doll Shop for twenty years. Virginia then married Lawrence Galigher in 1997, and moved to Estill Springs and Tullahoma, TN until 2012.When she returned to Monroe, LA, she kept busy with various charities. She was active in Strauss Little Theatre for many years.
Mrs. Galigher was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald H. Durham; second husband, Lawrence Lee Galigher; brother, Robert O. Osborne; and sister, Mildred Hazel Sturdivant.
Survivors include her daughters, Teri Parnell (Lee), Tina Miller, and Toni Michael (John); grandchildren, Jaime Moore (Mike), Jarrod Moore, Doug Miller (Katie), and Megan Munholland (Jacob); great- grandchildren, Shawn Aldridge, Madelyn Miller, and Blake Miller; and siblings, Patrick Osborne (Lanette) and Margaret McCoy (Brian).
Pallbearers will be Patrick Osborne, Brian McCoy, Lee Parnell, John Michael, Doug Miller, Jarrod Moore, Jacob Munholland, and Mike Aldridge.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
