Funeral services for family and close friends for Mrs. Virginia Ann Mitchell will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 26, 2022, graveside in the Calhoun Cemetery in Calhoun, LA with Rev. Louis Bartett officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA
Virginia died January 23, 2022, at home where her husband and her kids had made a place for her to pass with ease and dignity. Even though the years had taken some of her beauty it was impossible for the passing of time to erase the lasting memory of what a life with Virginia had created. She was tall and lanky with a love of life that usually expressed itself with a dance move. She didn’t “love” to cook but she did it every day. She kept the home clean and insisted everyone take their shoes off before they walked on the carpet. She put up peas and corn every summer even though they weren’t her favorite thing to eat. She Ironed Richards handkerchiefs and she sent him to work with a lunch. She loved Richard, her kids, her home, and Florida.
Virginia’s parents, Floyd and Lois McIntosh; and her brother, Jerry McIntosh passed on before her.
Those left to continue to celebrate Virginia and her life are her husband, of 65 years, Mr. Richard L. Mitchell; Daughters, Sheri Mitchell McNeely, and Lori Mitchell Reneau; Son, Larry L. Mitchell, Jr.; grandchildren, Nathan Mitchell, Ameila Chase, Parker Mitchell Reneau, Katy Brown Jones, and Daniel Richard Brown; great grandchildren Fletcher Liam Jones and Oliver Bonham Jones, and Scarlett Remington Chase; Brothers, Floyd Bryan McIntosh, James M. McIntosh, and Richard Henry McIntosh
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan Mitchell, Parker Mitchell, Daniel Brown, Don Finley, Scotty Sims, Bill Moore, and Roy Avant
The family would request that memorials may be made to the Point Assembly of God Church.
