Funeral services for Virgil Lee Perry, 89, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 20, 2010, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Tom Gordy and Rev. Charlie Hood officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Perry, a retired carpenter, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010. He worked for Borden’s Milk Co for many years and was a U. S. Army veteran serving in WWII.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Cascio Perry.
Survivors include his children, Charles Perry and wife Salli, Gail Humphries and husband Duane, Toni LeBlanc and husband Mike, and Dianna Poindexter and husband Ron; grandchildren, Tim Gordy, Tom Gordy and wife Theresa, Terry Gordy and wife Heather, Gaylon Perry and wife Mariah, Tafta Miller and husband Matt, Mary Katherine Humphries, Cara Brown and husband Hunter, Kellen Poindexter, and Amy Poindexter; great grandchildren, Ainsley Gordy, Graham Jackson Gordy, Sarah Gordy, Truman Gordy, Camille and Cassidy Miller, Bella Perry, Walker Perry, Andrew Archer, Carlie Brown, Bailor Brown, Grace, Chandler, and Christopher Pettis.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Mike LeBlanc.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home.
