Graveside services for Violet Gray Haynes, 90, will be held at Rocky Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Lisbon, LA on Sunday, January 14, 2018, 2:00 PM, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, at Rocky Springs Baptist Church.
Violet passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church for 50 years and a member of Winsome Life Group.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe L. Haynes; daughter-in-law, Laurie Haynes; grandson, Landon McIntyre; sisters, Mildred Miller, Vera Crumpler, and Ruby Lofton; brothers, Cecil Gray, Hal Gray, and Thomas Gray.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Haynes of Sherman, TX and Larry Haynes of Monroe, LA; two grandchildren, Christopher Haynes and Melody McIntyre; two great grand-children, Landon and Tyson; and many nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to thank Sharon Turner for the care she gave our mother. Mother thought the world of her. Also, thanks to Sara Reeves, and the family of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care. Words cannot express our gratitude for all they did for our mother.
Pallbearers will be her great nephews, Bobby Miller, Alan Miller, Brian Miller, and great-great nephews, Mason Miller, Josh Miller and Layton Miller.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorials be made to North Monroe Baptist Church Dare Building Fund.
