Funeral
Services for Mrs. Violet C. Hobgood will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 1,
2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Ken
Renfroe officiating.  Interment will
follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.


 


Mrs.
Hobgood was born on April 16, 1914 and went to her Heavenly home on July 29,
2011.   She and her husband were charter
members of Wesley Chapel Community Church. 
Mrs. Hobgood taught eight grade English for more than 20 years in
Oauchita Parish Schools.   Teaching and
her love of the Bible were her passions. 
She spent many hours studying the Word of God, sharing her faith and
knowledge with others.   She is preceded
in death by her husband, Thomas V. Hobgood; son, Virgil A. Hobgood; son-in-law,
John L. McClain; sister, Mabel Fleming; brother, Albert Coates; and parents,
Lee M. Coates and Ivy Kelley Coates Barnett.


 


Survivors
include her sons, Kernel L. Hobgood Sr. and wife Barbara, John Paul Hobgood and
wife, Linda; daughter, Tomi H. McClain; daughter-in-law, Mary Hobgood;
grandsons, Paul R. Hobgood and K. Lee Hobgood, Jr.and Dr. John McClain, Jr.;
granddaughters, Leslie M. Hernandez and husband, Philip, Julia H, Camp and
husband, Joffry, Paula H. Howard and husband, Fredrick, and Kelly Hobgood;
great granddaughters, Megan Carpenter and husband, Matthew, Ambriel Hobgood and
Natalie Hobgood; and one sister, Luna Hattaway.


 


Pallbearers
will be Bob Harrell, Rusty Patterson, Arlon Terrell, Donnie Garr, Keith
Thompson and Walter Hawsey.  Honorary
Pallbearers will be Dr. John McClain, Jr., K. Lee Hobgood, Jr., Shelby
Funderburk and Robert Funderburk.


 


Visitation
will be held from 12:00 P.M. until Service Time on Monday at Mulhearn Funeral
Home West Monroe, LA
