Funeral services for Victor Wayne Hendricks, age 74, a resident of Terrytown, LA, and native of West Monroe, will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe.
Wayne passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Baton Rouge, LA.
A graduate of ULM and West Monroe High School and avid sports fan, Wayne will be well remembered as a popular figure on the playgrounds and ball fields of West Monroe. During his time in Terrytown, and into his retirement years from Bell South, he coached, umpired/refereed, volunteered and worked countless hours at Terrytown Playground and Jefferson Parish Recreation Department. Wayne was also a veteran of the United States Army. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Elvie Hendricks and brother, Dale Hendricks.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Jo; son, Michael Wayne Hendricks; grandson, Tyler Michael Liam Hendricks; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Hendricks of Baton Rouge; sister, Elva Dean Berry and husband, Ned; brother, Prentiss Hendricks; sister-in-law, Sarah Hendricks of West Monroe and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 P.M. until Service Time on Wednesday.
