Vicki Newman Wilson

Funeral services for Vicki Newman Wilson, 67, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 5, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Roger Johnson and Rev. Richard Gambill officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Vicki was born on October 12, 1950, in Ferriday, LA, and passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. She was a member of the Ferriday High School Marching Band and served as majorette. Vicki was Junior Miss of Concordia Parish. She graduated in 1972 from Northeast Louisiana University and began her teaching career. Vicki so enjoyed teaching and loved her students before retiring in 1999. Vicki loved photography and it became her hobby that she shared with everyone. She was devoted to her grandchildren and loved them dearly.

Vicki was a member of First Baptist Church of Bastrop.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Percy L. and Maxine Bass Newman; and brother, Eddie Max Newman.

Survivors include her husband, Ermis K. Wilson; son, Matt Wilson and wife Misty; daughter, Allison Page; grandchildren, Crew and Kayden Wilson, and Lanlea and Banks Page; brother, Ernie Newman and wife Kathy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Accardo, Greg Andrews, Brad Burtram, Matt Miller, Jake Newman, Sam Newman, John Wilson, and Kevin Woods.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
