A Mass of Christian Burial for Veronica Worley will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Moran officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Veronica passed from this life Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Ruston Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a longtime resident of Monroe, LA. Veronica was born to Elza Veronica Worley on March 30, 1942, in Monroe, LA. She graduated from St. Matthews High School and Northeast Louisiana State University receiving both a bachelors and master’s degree in Education, Literature, and Religion. She loved to teach and taught many years at St. Frederick High School and Our Lady of Fatima as well as working for St. Matthew’s and St. Joseph in Bastrop, LA with Rev. Bob Inzina.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Oral and Josephine Worley.
Survivors include her brother, Clifford Worley and his wife Donna; nephew, Caden Worley; great niece, Chaynee Rey Worley; special cousins, Wendy Giovingo and Brenda Taylor; and numerous other cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Charles Taylor, Jay Middleton, Mike Inzina, Tommy Fields, Frank Giovingo and Howard Middleton.
The family would like to thank all those who assisted in Veronica’s care at the Ruston Nursing and Rehab. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to English Scholarship at St. Frederick High School.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017, from 11:00AM until 1:30PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
