Graveside services for Vernice Joseph Pleasant, Jr., 78 of West Monroe, will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday May 8, 2021 at Hasley Cemetery Pavilion with Dr. Mark Fenn officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, in West Monroe.
Joe was born on September 25, 1942 in Hodge, Louisiana, and passed from this life on May 6, 2021 in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Joe retired from Riverwood Paper after 37 years of service. He was fondly known as Joe Pal by many he worked with. He served as President of the Jaycees and was an Honorary Senator of the Jaycees and was also the voice for the West Monroe Rebels for many years. Joe was an avid fisherman.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Vernice Joseph Pleasant, Sr., and Irene Whitman Pleasant; and first wife, Carol Ann Pleasant.
Those left behind to cherish his memory, are his wife, Rosie Pleasant; son, Joey Pleasant; daughter, Christy Dulaney and husband, Lance; grandchildren, Joe Michael Pleasant, Nick Pleasant, Luke Dulaney and wife Miranda, and Sarah Dulaney; and great grandchild, Mozelle Kathleen Dulaney.
Pallbearers will be Lance Dulaney, Luke Dulaney, Joey Pleasant, Joe Michael Pleasant, Nick Pleasant, and Cleve Saxon.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M., at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
