Verdell Moore

Funeral services for Mrs. Verdell Moore, 91, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 15, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moore was born on February 11, 1932, in Crossett, Arkansas and passed away on June 11, 2023, in Monroe. Verdell was a retired beautician for over 30 years. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who loved her family and grandkids dearly.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, J. V. Moore; parents, Rastus and Cora Johnson; five brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Glen Moore (Denise); son, Bruce Moore (Pam); daughter, Connie Barbera (Dan); grandchildren, Rob Moore (Amy), Ryan Moore (Sarah), Ron Moore (Kristy), Andrea Sapp (Landon), Stephen Moore (Molly), Lindsey Vaccaro (Joe), and Courtney Barbera; twelve great grandchildren; Cannon Moore, Camden Moore, Chase Thomas (Lauren), Austin Thomas, Brock Moore, Hanna Moore, Bella Moore, Jacob Sapp, Thomas Moore, Caroline Moore, Jack Vaccaro, and Luke Vaccaro; one great great granddaughter, Lily Thomas; sisters, Lula Ballard, Ernestine Burt, Norma Hamm, and Sally Tomblin; and one brother, Billy Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Moore, Ron Moore, Brock Moore, Camden Moore, Landon Sapp, and Stephen Moore. The honorary pallbearer will be Rob Moore.

The family would like to express their great appreciation to our wonderful sitters, Sharon Mathis, Sonia Augustine, Linda Thomas, LaTonya Allen, Darlene Thomas, and Elzattar Tyler, Compassus Hospice and Dr. Charles Morgan for their excellent care and love shown to Mrs. Moore.
