Vera Mae Perkins

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Vera Mae Perkins, 97, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 11, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, with Rev. Eugene Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday.

Mrs. Vera was born October 31, 1924, in Glenmore, LA, and passed away November 5, 2021, in West Monroe, LA. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for many years, and she loved her church and her Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Perkins; her parents, Stewart and Dovie Johnston; two sisters; and two grandsons, Craig Perkins and Richard Auttonberry.

Survivors include her son, James Perkins and wife Sylvia; her daughter, Brenda Auttonberry and husband W.H. “Dub”; grandchildren, Michael Auttonberry, Shane Perkins and wife Ashley, and Melanie Jones and husband Charlie; and eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. Vera’s great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
