Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Vera H. Eady, 88, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Michael Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Eady was born on February 2, 1935, and passed away on January 8, 2024. She served many years in area school cafeterias. She and her husband owned and operated Eady’s Grocery in Olla, LA until they retired. She enjoyed reading (especially the bible), playing pokeno, and visiting with family and friends.
Mrs. Eady is preceded in death by the love of her life, Harvie Eady; parents; in-laws; siblings, Maxine Brown, C. A. Hollingsworth, and Mary Lee Wright.
Left to cherish her memory include her children, Mike Eady and wife, DeWanna, Lea Ann Freeland and husband, Greg, Nancy Robert and husband, Glenn; sister, Olene Parker; grandchildren, Kade Eady and wife, Shannon, Heather Langley husband, Will, Collin Freeland and wife, Brandie, Hannah Heath, Chad Heath, Sarah Otwell and husband, Scott, and Michael Robert and wife, Megan; great-grandchildren, Braxton Greer, Ian Robinson, Blaze Langley, Railey Langley, Kaylee Eady, Kam Eady, Mason Freeland, Parker Freeland, Jace Otwell, Rhett Otwell and Eli Otwell and McKenzie Robert; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Kade Eady, Collin Freeland, Wil Langley, Rich Jacobs, Shane Wright, and James Vickery. Honorary Pallbearer will be Roy Parker.
Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until service time Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, West Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, the McClendon Baptist Church El Salvador shoebox Ministry or to the charity of your choice.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the West Monroe Guest House for the love and care they have shown.
