Velma Sikes Rhoten

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Velma Sikes Rhoten, 80, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Kelly Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Rhoten died July 1, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Rhoten was retired from Ivan Smith Furniture Store. She attended Christ Church. She loved to be in her garden and enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family.

She was preceded by her mother, Rita Sikes Medlin; father, Pete Sikes; daughter, Taama Galyean; and husband, Buddy Rhoten.

Survivors: her son and daughter-in-law, Spencer and Laura Rhoten; daughter, Bronwyn Rhoten (Mike Crane); grandchildren, Stacey Crane (Fiancé, David), Matthew Crane (Quinci), Brandon Galyean (Mandi), Chris Galyean, Cole Rhoten (Jacie), and Seth Rhoten (Hayley); 7 great grandchildren, Patrick Crawford, Jr., Kimber Brown, Emory Brown, Jonas Brown, Davin Brown, Macy Brown, McKenzie Galyean, Braley Galyean, Zander Galyean, Manna Rhoten, Oakland Rhoten, and Everly Rhoten; sisters, Florece Coleman, Alice Perry, and Jan Alderman; brothers, Gordon Medlin and Thomas Antley (Doris); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until service time on Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to Pilots for Patients or Ground Angels of Houston.
