Velma Brown McMillan, 96, of Monroe passed from this life peacefully. A private immediate family memorial service will follow at a later date.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents, William Jefferson Brown and Lura Morrow Brown; her sisters, Mary Garvin, Oda Furlow, and Ammon Fuller; and her brother, Julian Brown.
Following her retirement, from James W. Moore Oil Company, she found joy in serving others and sharing her faith.
Her survivors include, sons, David K. McMillan and wife, Sherri, and Ron E. McMillan; daughter, Deborah M. Fowler; grandsons, James M Anders and wife, Dianne, Richard H Anders and wife, Lynne; Daniel A. Sledge III and wife, Mary; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
