Vada Mae Wilkerson

Funeral services for Vada Wilkerson, 86 of Calhoun, LA, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Grace Pointe Church, 1905 Auburn Avenue, Monroe, with Rev. John Jones and Rev. Ottis Lenoir officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M., until service time.

Mrs. Vada was born January 24, 1934 in Archibald, LA, and passed from this life on September 9, 2020, at her home in Calhoun, LA.

She worked and retired from General Motors, where she was affectionately known as the “Cake Lady”. Mrs. Vada had a great love for cooking and was well known for it. She loved spending time with her family, and she loved her dog, Cookie. She was also a member of Christ Church.

Mrs. Vada is preceded in death by her parents, John Paul Rieger, Sr., and C. Lonnie Bradshaw; her husband Riley Wilkerson; daughter, Judy Fox Fryday; son-in-law, David Bennett, daughter, Tammy “Peanut” Harris, stepson, Gary Wayne Wilkerson; sisters, Evelyn Long and Tincy Woodall; brother-in-law, Benny Bryan; and sister-in-law, Pat Rieger.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dottie Swain and husband, Jake, Joyce McNeely and husband, Terry, Pam Graves and husband, Tony, Tiffany Jones, and husband, John; stepsons, Randy Wilkerson and wife, Lorie, and Kenny Wilkerson; stepdaughter, Carolyn Waldrop; brothers, John Paul Rieger, Jr., and wife, Loudale, Marvin Rieger and wife, Doris, Darvin Rieger, Dale Rieger; sister, Jane Bryan; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Woodall, Craig Bryan, JP Rieger, Shawn Rieger, Mickey Rieger, and Bubba Rieger. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Woodall.
