Travis Lee Russell, a long-time resident of West Monroe, passed away on October 13, 2018, at the age of 88. Travis was born on January 24, 1930 in Arcadia, LA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served his country as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He served the public of West Monroe as a Police Officer for 25 years and retired from the West Monroe Police Department as a Major in 1979.
Travis is survived by his son, Tommy Russell and wife Donna, his grandchildren, Lori Russell and Brandon Russell, his great grandchildren, Andrew Russell, Katie Dry and Jacob Russell and his great-great grandchildren, Parker and Tucker Dry. He is also survived by sister, Margaret Hicks. Travis will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.
Travis was preceded in death by his wife, the Love of his Life, Louise Sausele Russell. He was also preceded in death by his parents, David Ross and Mavis Gaines Russell and sisters, Annie Lee Bishop, Helen Russell and Dorothy Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 300 McMillan Rd, West Monroe, LA 71291.
