Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Raymond Williams, 83, of Ouachita Parish, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 19, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Thomas Raymond Williams was born January 4, 1941, and died September 14, 2024. He was born to Alma Ates (Jack) and biological father, TC Williams. His mother had an ice cream place on Desiard for many years. He had three children, Ricky Lynn, Carol Ann and Pamela.

Ray served in the Army for over 21 years. He was stationed in Hyattsville, MD and loved working at the Pentagon. He was stationed overseas in Thule, Greenland, Mildenhall in Suffolk, England, and served in Vietnam. He served in the Big Red One, First Infantry Division. After he returned from Vietnam he became an Army Recruiter.

Ray was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to deer hunt and fish. He used to go twice a year to the NASCAR races in Talladega, AL. He loved to travel the country. He took the motorhome a lot to New Mexico and Colorado in the summer and to Arizona in the winter. He met many good friends and saw some beautiful parts of the country.

Those who knew Ray, knew he would do anything for you. He would talk to the wall if nothing talked back. 

Ray is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Lynn Williams; parents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Ray is survived by his wife, Donna, they were married for 55 years on this Friday;

Ricky's wife Sara; Derrick and his children, Evan Grace and Shephard, Kelsey;

Carol Ann and children Rhett and Courtney; Pamela (Devin); her son, Jarred (Stacey) and children Jase, Annie, and Ridge; her son, Dustin (Kadie) and children Kayden, Elliot Rose, Collins Marie, and Ridge.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Ray Williams.
