Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Thomas W. “Tommy” Winkler, 78, of Sterlington, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2021 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe, LA with Rev. J. R. Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
Mr. Winkler was born on November 17, 1942 and passed away on February 3, 2021. Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Truman Winkler; mother and stepfather, Doris and Glen Canterberry; brother, Leon Winkler; mother and father-in-law, Helen and George Ashy; and his nephews, Shane Hendrix and Wesley Dale Canterberry.
Tommy was the ultimate outdoors man. He loved experiencing every activity with his family, grandchildren, and friends. Traveling was in his soul. Tommy and Melissa visited 49 states and all of the providences and territories of Canada. One of his favorite past times were the rowdy 2 card games with his best buddies.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Melissa Ashy Winkler; sons, Jerry Ringle and Todd Ringle and wife, Rae; grandchildren, Kristin, Madison, Aly, Holly, and Cole; great grandchildren, Sutton and Austin; sister, Glenda Canterberry Hendrix and husband, Steve; brother, Ed Canterberry and wife, Anna; brother-in laws, Ned Ashy and George Ashy; sister-in-law, Barbara Tubre and husband, Bill; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends that loved Tommy.
Pallbearers will be Madison Ringle, Micheal Ashy, Drew Hendrix, Torrey Hendrix, Grady Brown and David Haman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Jones, Donald Griffin, Dickie Culpepper, Lloyd Sivils, Conroy Hines, Joe Hodge, Lanny Brantley, Billy Rushing, Ervin Bates, Donald “Pop” Seffens and Freddie Nolan.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
