Thomas Rudolph Dickens

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Rudolph Dickens, 77, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 22, 2021, at New Light Baptist Church, Monroe, LA, with Bro. Lindle Stewart and Rev. Jimmy Masters officiating. Interment will follow at New Light Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 21, 2021, at New Light Baptist Church.

Mr. Dickens was born June 1, 1944, in Harrisonburg, LA, and passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was a member and Deacon at New Light Baptist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, and his family, but most of all he loved his Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and the love of his life, his wife of 58 years. He always had a hug and an I love you when you got there and when you left. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.

Mr. Dickens was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien and Bessie Dickens, and siblings, Lois Dickens Wiggins, Frank Dickens, Dorothy Geiger, and Eunice Coleman.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Dickens; children, Shelia Evans (Joey), Tommy Dickens (Angela), Sambo Pardue (Bubba); grandchildren, Brandon Casey (Krystal), Chandyce Paulman (Carl), Brandi Dickens, Darren Guess, Matt Casey, Clint Dickens, Savannah Hipp (Taylor), Breanna Ray, Taylor Dickens, Elizabeth Kate Pardue, Victoria Pardue, Tre Pardue; great grandchildren, Cole, Colt, Colby, Carl Nathan, Aida, Harper, Conlee, Brooks; and brother, Bill Dickens.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Casey, Darren Guess, Matt Casey, Clint Dickens, Taylor Hipp, and Kenny Dickens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ray Odom, Henry Barnes, Carl Parker, Alvis Arnold, and Gradon McQuiston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
