Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas P. “Tommy” Milstead, Jr., 84, of Ruston, LA, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Pastor Terry Taylor and Michael Stravato officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe.
Thomas P. Milstead, Jr. was born on November 21, 1926 in Trout, LA and passed away August 19, 2011 in Ruston, LA. Thomas was a retired Plant Manager for Holsum Bakery. He was a part of the United States Merchant Marines from 1944-1945 and the United States Army from 1951-1953.Thomas was raised a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz, but attended Family Church in West Monroe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas P. Milstead, Sr. and Martha Raborn Milstead; brothers, Warren Milstead and C. C. Milstead; sisters, Dorothy McKaskle and Marie Morrison; and daughter, Mary Foster.
Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Ollie D. Milstead; daughter, Shelia Branch and husband Randy; son, Dan Brunson and wife Jan; grandchildren, Bruce Foster and wife Vicki, Tina Erdbruegger and husband Dwight, Dan Brunson Sanders, Jr. and wife Paula, Michael Branch and wife Hilary, Josh Branch and wife Holly, Randy Branch II, and Chelsea Branch; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Branch, Josh Branch, Randy Branch II, David Branch, Dwight Erdbruegger, and Bruce Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hardy Holley and Phillip Leon.
Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Monday, August 22, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
