Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Henry Mulhearn, Jr., 67 of West Monroe, LA, will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Monroe, LA with Rev. Joseph Puthuppally officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
Mr. Mulhearn died on November 25, 2007 surrounded by his family at his residence after a lengthy illness. Mr. Mulhearn was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 329. Tom was a former owner of Mulhearn Funeral Home and Mulhearn Car Wash. He was a member of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association and served in various civic organizations through the years. Tom was a former director of Monroe Building and Loan and Louisiana Bank. He also served as city alderman for the City of West Monroe, LA. Tom’s grandchildren, who referred to him as “Paw Paw,” will miss him the most. He loved taking them deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Peggy Ann Mullins Mulhearn; parents, Tom and Marie Mulhearn; brother, Pete Mulhearn; and great granddaughter, Haley Mulhearn.
He is survived by his children: Mike Mulhearn; Cathy Richardson; Lynn Antis and husband Andrian; Thomas H. Mulhearn III and wife Tammy; William S. Mulhearn and wife Robin; daughter-in-law, Cathy C. Mulhearn; grandchildren: Michael Mulhearn and wife Joani; Gus Antis and wife Frankie; Audrey and Adam Antis; Cory, Colby, Casey and Kailey Mulhearn; Ashlea, Lauren, and Van Richardson; great-grandchildren: Carter Mulhearn and Hunter McKoin; sister, Barbara McKenzie and husband Harry; brother, Joe Mulhearn and wife Nancy; and sister-in-law Nancy Pierron and husband Walter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael, Gus, Cory, Adam, Colby, Casey, and Van. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Sanders, Raymond Winn, Clyde White, Richard Norman, Pat Norman, and the employees of the Mulhearn Corporation.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Vigil wake service will be held at 6:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Special thanks to the staff of The Terrace and the staff of Patients Choice Hospice for their special care for our father.
Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church, St. Paschal Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
