Susan V. Goode

A Celebration of Life for Susan V. Goode, 71, of Punta Gorda, FL, will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Ricky Bonnett officiating. A private interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Born on November 3, 1952, in Houston, TX, to the late Vern Keith and Sue (Griffin) Venator, Susan passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Twenty years ago, she and her husband, Pat, relocated to Punta Gorda from Warner Robins, GA, where they built a life together filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Susan was a vivacious soul, known for her boundless love and devotion to her family and friends. She was a beloved wife, an adoring mother, and a proud grandmother. Her kindness, generosity, and loyalty touched everyone who knew her. Susan was a woman of many talents: a passionate singer and musician, a dedicated special needs elementary school teacher, and a caretaker with a heart full of compassion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, John Robert Goode; and her brother, Griff Venator.

Susan's memory will forever be cherished by her husband of 50 years, Pat (Samuel P.) Goode of Punta Gorda, FL; her sons, Patrick Goode and wife Alecia of Round Rock, TX, and Christopher Goode and wife Valerie of Sarasota, FL; her three beloved grandchildren, Jonah, Nathan and Skyler; her sister, Betty Venator of Texas; her brother, Glen Venator; as well as her niece Melissa, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.
