Susan Gail Gallagher, 62, of Shreveport, LA departed this earthly world to be with our Heavenly Father on July 16, 2021.
Services honoring the life of Miss Susan Gail Gallagher will occur on Saturday July 31, 2021 in Monroe, LA. Visitation will take place between 10:00am-11:00am at Mulhearn Funeral Home (Sterlington Rd location) with Memorial Service to follow at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church between 11:30am-12:30pm.
Susan was born in Monroe, LA on December 18, 1958 to parents Mary Agnes Sewell and Alfred David Gallagher, Sr. She was the youngest sister to her four siblings, a 1976 graduate of Neville High School in Monroe, LA, and a 1982 graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Susan is preceded in death by her father, Alfred David Gallagher, Sr.; and grandparents, Michael Vincent Gallagher, Sr., Gertrude Griffin Gallagher, Dr. Frank P. Rizzo, Sr. and Gussie Zagone Rizzo.
Susan was a light to everyone she crossed paths with, became a life-long friend to many throughout her travels, and was a lifesaver and caregiver to families she served as a nurse.
Susan had a passion for all that life had to offer. Throughout her career as a registered nurse, she traveled to many destinations and enjoyed each city to the fullest – exploring every hobby she could from scuba diving, to skiing, to sight-seeing. Whether it was music, a holiday party, or hosting group dinners, Susan loved to bring people together. She will be deeply missed by so many.
She was a loving daughter to Mary Agnes Sewell and Ralph Lee Sewell; a caring sister to Alfy Gallagher, Marilyn G. Lovett, Patrick Gallagher, Sr., M.D., and Christopher Gallagher, Sr.; a devoted mother to Matthew A. Gallagher, a second mom to countless friends of Matthew whom she had met over the years; an aunt to Paul Gallagher, Sarah Gallagher, Stoddard Schlueter, and Patrick Gallagher, Jr.; and a loved-one to numerous cousins and friends.
The Family invites those who wish to celebrate her life to join them on Saturday, July, 31 2021 in Monroe, LA – Visitation will occur at Mulhearn Funeral Home (Sterlington Rd Location) from 10:00am-11:00am with Memorial Service to follow at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church from 11:30am-12:30pm.
