Stacey Rene’ Hill Miller
Rayville, Louisiana
Stacey Rene’ Hill Miller was born on August 28, 1974, in Monroe, Louisiana.  With loving support from her family and friends, she “fought strong” against colon cancer this past year.  On July 18, 2011, Stacey won her battle and is now cancer free in the presence of her Lord.
Stacey’s pride and joy were her two boys, Trey James Miller and Cody Eugene Miller.  Every aspect of her life in the past year was a testament to her commitment to show them how to live through faith in the Lord. She also exemplified a constant love of family and a steadfast strength of character - no matter the circumstances.  Stacey accepted Christ on June 29, 1986 and was a member of Alto Baptist Church.
Stacey graduated from Mangham High School in 1992 as an All-State Basketball player and went on to play at Panola Junior College in Carthage, Texas.  After transferring to Louisiana Tech, Stacey was a part of the Lady Techsters’ Championship team of 1995-1996.
Coaching had always been her passion, and she fulfilled her dream at Ruston High School, William and Mary College in Virginia, Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge and Start Junior High.  She also was a devoted mentor to many students as the physical education instructor.
She is survived by her two sons, Trey and Cody Miller; parents, Sidney and Rhonda Hill; siblings: Kylie and her husband Javier Leija, Jessica and her husband Chantz Poland, Jeffrey Hill, Rebecca and her husband Heath Curry.  She was blessed with many nieces and nephews including Sydney Leija, Cooper Leija, Kaylee Poland, Cade Poland, and Carson Leija.  She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Eugene and Nancy Faye Johnston and her paternal grandmother, Ogal Lee Hill. Stacey was preceded in death by James E. Hill, her paternal grandfather.   She also had an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, school faculty,
Louisiana Tech family, Start personnel, ballpark junkies, and many other friends.
Stacey’s imprint can be found on the hearts of the ones she loved, and she will be greatly missed.
