Shirley "Pete" Cupit

Funeral Services for Mr. Shirley “Pete” Cupit, 89, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Gordon “Skip” Dean and Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Winnsboro, LA.

Mr. Cupit was born August 28, 1929, in Crowville, LA to Gillis and Ileatha Cupit and passed away November 20, 2018. He was a veteran in the United States Army. Mr. Cupit was the owner and operator of S & S Printing and type setter at Southern Graphics. He loved to piddle with just about anything and putter around in the yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Everett and Nolan Cupit.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sue Ellerman Cupit; his three children, Michael Wade Cupit, Edward Scott Cupit (Jennifer), and Laura Ashley Tarver (Cary); three grandchildren, Van Tarver, Zach Tarver and Tyler Cupit; brother, Cleon “Bo” Cupit; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special neighbor, LaVetria Long.

Pallbearers will be Van, Zach, Tyler, Scott, Mike and Cary.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Jimmy Morris Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church Building Fund or to your favorite charity.
