Funeral services for Shirley Marie Smith, 77, of Plano, TX, formerly of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA with Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at her residence in Plano, TX. She was member of East Side Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She will be dearly missed and was truly a special person.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Rita Roy Calhoun; and husband, Charles Raymond Smith; daughter, Rita Margaret Smith; sisters, Ann Calhoun, Margaret L. Calhoun; brother, Clyde Ray Calhoun; and brother, Jimmy Calhoun.
Survivors include son, James “Jimmy” L. Smith; grandchildren, Hope Ashley Smith; Paige Elizabeth Smith, Jonathan Sublett; step-grandchildren, Zachery Leazure; Alyssa Leazure; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, March 17, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
A memorial celebration service will be held at later date in Plano, TX.
