Funeral services for Shirley L. Edwards, 75, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday January 22, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Victor Cheeks officiating. Interment will be in the Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.
Mrs. Edwards was born on January 12, 1939 in Eudora, Arkansas and passed away on January 19, 2014 in West Monroe, LA. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness West Monroe Congregation. Mrs. Edwards was an exceptional poet and had many of her poems published nationally. She was a very generous lady willing to do or help anyone that needed it. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Martin Edwards, Jr., parents, Henry S. and Mattie L. Sanderson; and brother, James Sanderson.
Survivors include her children, Scott V. Edwards, Michelle K. Anderson and husband Chris, Yvonne D. Peterson and husband Kai; grandchildren, Siri, Kenzie and Meren Anderson, Chandler Tidwell, Austin and Ryan Peterson; sister, Melbaline Sills and husband Robert; brother, Malcolm Sanderson and wife Dorothy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Tubb, Tannan Kolln, John Ney, Slade Reynolds, Joel Holland, and Jason McClary
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
