Shirley Joseph Myers

Funeral Services for Shirley Joseph Myers, 81, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Paschal Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Coens officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paschal Catholic Cemetery, West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Shirley was born on January 2, 1936 in Mermentau, LA and passed away surrounded by his family on January 27, 2017 in West Monroe, LA. He proudly served in the United States Navy for nine years and with the Army Reserve for two years. Shirley was sometimes called “Shorty” and “Joe”. He is preceded in death by his parents, Casey and Rosa Myers; brothers, Loveless Myers, Burley Myers, Harry Lee Myers; and sister, Rosa Mae Myers.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Loretta Myers; children, Faith Tarver and husband Elmo, Hope Grigsby, Charity Owens and husband Wayne, Casey Joseph Myers and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Amber Sumrall, Katie Grisgby, Krystle Richter, Joshua Johnson and wife Miranda, Jamie Stanley and husband Bob, Leslie Lee and husband Jason, Jessica Romero, Ronald Owens, Deri Gayle and husband Gideon and their children, Kori and Kameron, Carla Grigsby and son Jacob and C.J. Grigsby and son Gavin; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford Myers, Curly Myers, Steve Myers and wife Yvonne, Donald Myers and wife Nam, Russell Myers; sister, Rita Sittig; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Owens, Elmo Tarver, Amber Sumrall, Chris Myers, Brian Myers, Joshua Johnson and Steven Myers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Monday, January 30, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
