Shawn Elizabeth Woods, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2022, at the age of 66 after her brief battle with cancer. Her last days were spent in West Monroe, LA, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 15, 1956, in Monroe, LA, and remained a life-long resident.
She spent most of her adult life as an LPN and later owned two nurse staffing agencies. Her selfless desire to care for others made her the most incredible nurse.
Shawn deeply loved her Father, Jesus Christ. She looked to Him for guidance throughout her life and cherished her quiet time with Him. She was proud to share this love to all, leading many to the cross.
She was an outdoor enthusiast and was happiest when hunting, fishing, riding horses, and searching for arrowheads. She was frequently accompanied by two of her like-minded adventurer grandchildren, Reid and Briley Robinson. They spent countless hours searching for worms to fish and hunting for snakes.
She radiated light, love, patience, and compassion. All qualities beautifully and uniquely paired with her quick-witted sense of humor.
She had the ability to make every person that entered a room feel heard, seen, and cherished.
Serving the Lord and her family was truly her heart.
Shawn will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Susan Anderson; her children, Emily Poole and husband Russell Poole, Keller Cotita, and Elizabeth Cotita; grandchildren, Caroline Oswald and husband Tristan Oswald, Annalise Clary, Peyton Clary, Madaline Clary, Gia Poole, Derek Poole and wife Christina Poole, Hannah Poole, Abi Poole, Taylor Poole, Reid Robinson, Briley Robinson, Audrey Cotita, Timothy William Cotita, Sadie Cotita; sisters, Sharon Woods, Stacey Parker and husband Mike Parker, Carolyn Shelby and husband Christopher Shelby; brother, Wayne Woods Jr. and wife June Woods; as well as nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and friends.
