Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Holloman Scott, Jr. and her parents Lehman Earl and Juanita Terrell Fisher.
Sharon, age 75, was born to the late Lehman Earl and Juanita Fisher on August 10, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana. The matriarch of her family, her legacy of love, strength, and togetherness will live on for generations to come.
Sharon graduated from Ouachita High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM). She devoted many years to being a stay-at-home mom before later working in various administrative roles with Catahoula Parish and Monroe City School Systems. Prior to retiring she also worked for the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
In January of 2003, Sharon married the late Thomas Holloman Scott, Jr. Together they shared many unforgettable experiences, creating a beautiful home, traveling together, spending time with friends and family, and creating lifelong memories. From every adventure, whether it was a spontaneous road trip, or a late evening boat ride on the bayou, there was almost certain to be a story that followed, of some sort of mishap. These stories were filled with love, laughter, and evidence of the joy that they found with each other; each one more unforgettable than the last. Sharon’s steadfast devotion during Tom’s prolonged illness, offering unwavering support, love, and care throughout his difficult journey was a reflection of the love they had for one another.
As a mother of two, grandmother of 5, and great-grandmother of two with one more coming soon, Sharon was the heart of her family. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mimi. Her home was the gathering place for family dinners and holiday celebrations, for which she delighted in decorating and setting the perfect table. Sharon also shared her love of travel with her family, through countless family beach trips, vacations, and trips abroad, these memories will serve as a testament to her love of family and adventurous spirit.
Sharon had a deep passion for her community, actively participating in local events and supporting various foundations. She was a member of the Monroe Garden Club, the BB Chapter of P.E.O. International, and a former member and past president of the Cancer Foundation League. She was also an avid supporter of her late husband’s many philanthropic endeavors.
Sharon had an extensive circle of wonderful friends and was always involved in a variety of activities that brought joy and connection to her life. Whether traveling with girlfriends, playing cards, gardening and arranging flowers, cooking, or enjoying a lunch or dinner date with a close friend, she was always eager to engage with others and share her warmth. Her social nature and genuine interest in the lives of those around her made her a beloved figure in every circle she was part of. Through these friendships and activities, she built a vibrant, fulfilling life that was rich with laughter, support, and shared experiences.
Anyone who knew Sharon knows her style was unmatched, effortlessly blending elegance, personality, and a keen eye for detail. Whether dressing for a special occasion or simply enjoying a “casual” day out, Sharon always knew how to make a statement with her unique flair. Her wardrobe reflected her vibrant spirit, and her fashion choices inspired those around her, leaving a lasting impression wherever she went. From the shoes on her feet to the ever-present rouge on her lips, she was always the epitome of a lady.
